media. The popular media that most of us watch everyday does not give us the news that the majority of us would concider important. To further complicate matters, fewer organizations and/or people own the major media sources. Media manipulation may be unknown to many Americans, yet it is in their living rooms everyday. One highly recommended movie on this phenomenon is by Noam Chomsky, Professor of Linguistics from MIT, entitled "Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media." Professor Chomsky has also written many books on the subject.
