Do You Know How Your Elected Officials are Voting?

If you don't, find out here: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

After reading about how companies such as AIG abused the money given to them by the American people, you would think that most people would be againts those abuses happening again. Most people are, but I was surprised to find out that many of our elected officials, evidentally, have no problem with millions of our dollars being warrentlessly given away.

On April 1, 2009, the 111th Congress passed (247-171) the amendment for "the executive compensation provisions of the EMergency Ceonomic Stabilization Act of 2008 to prohibit unreasonable and excessive conpensation and compensation not based on performance standsrds: The House passed H.R. 1664, to amend the executive compensation provisions of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 to prohibit unreasonable and excessive compensation and compensation not based on performance standards, by a recorded vote of 247 ayes to 171 noes with 1 voting "present", Roll No. 182."

You can see how your state's representatives voted by going here.

For my state, Virginia, the results are as follows:

How the U.S. House from Virginia voted: voted
   • Rep. Rick Boucher (D-9) Y
   • Rep. Eric Cantor (R-7) P
   • Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11) Y
   • Rep. Randy Forbes (R-4) N
   • Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-6) N
   • Rep. James Moran (D-8) N
   • Rep. Glenn Nye (D-2) Y
   • Rep. Tom Perriello (D-5) Y
   • Rep. Bobby Scott (D-3) Y
   • Rep. Robert Wittman (R-1) N
   • Rep. Frank Wolf (R-10) N

"Y" = YEA

"N" = Ney

"P" = PRESENT

I would like an explaination as to why anyone would vote against this. Are those of you in that "NEY" category receiving some sort of "kick-back?" What is going on?
