Laura Ingraham Disrespects Stevie Wonder

Why are Republicans So Mean?

On the Media: “I don’t mind if we’re all twisted up about how the cable news is so awful, or it’s for the stupid people. I’m happy for that debate to go on, because Republicans will continue to win, as long as that’s the focus.

-Laura Ingraham,
February 12, 2005

. . . looking forward to the president uniting the world “so that in my lifetime I can write songs about love, about unity, and real songs of passion”.

-Stevie Wonder,
February 25, 2009

-------------------------------------------

I woke this morning listening to a talk radio station. I have a hard time getting up in the morning, so I have alarm clocks on both sides of the bed. One has that annoying "BEEP" and the other is on an annoying station. The more annoying the station, the faster I will get up. This moring broke all records.

Obama presented Stevie Wonder with the second annual Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at the White House . . . a wonderful event, in my opinion, and an opinion shared, I'm sure, by anyone who appreciates Stevie.

But then, some evil woman began ranting and disrespecting Stevie, a man who has never done anything in his whole life but make people happy by his music and speak about peace and love.

Who was that nasty woman? I'm obviously not up on my right-wing, foul-mouth talk show hosts. I called to find out. It was Laura Ingraham. Then, I pulled up her webstie - and a few others - and learned quite a few things:.

She has always been an ultra-conservative, and began her career at the Dartmouth Review. Already tarnished by its reputation for bigoted, homophobic, and sexist reportage, Ingraham took the Review to new levels when she secretly taped meetings of the campus Gay Students Association, sent copies of the tapes to participants’ parents, and, as if that wasn’t enough, published the transcript and went on to publicly denounce the GSA as cheerleaders for latent campus sodomites."

Ingraham has had two unsuccessful stints as a cable television host. In the late 1990s, she became a CBS commentator and hosted the MSNBC program Watch It!, Several years later, Ingraham began openly campaigning for another cable television show on her radio program. She finally got her wish in 2008, when Fox News Channel gave her a three-week trial run for new show entitled "Just In." During the show, there was an off-camera fight with producers (which was caught on tape and posted to the Web by Harry Shearer), and the show ended its short run without being renewed.

She appeared on a 1995 cover of "The New York Times Magazine" in a leoperd skin miniskirt — for an article about "rising young conservatives."

There was a little section just for Michelle Makcum on Ingraham's site. Michelle was that other evil woman who laughed about the GIs throwing the little dog off the cliff in Iraq.

Speaking on hypocrocy, there was a list of music from her show archives. On February 4, 2008, she has a Stevie Wonder Medley. On aJanuary 22, 2008, Steive's "you Are the Sundshine of MyLife " was used.

The only way for me to get the full audio from this morning's show was to pay, and I'll be damned if i give her as much a a penny. From what I can remember in my half-awakened state, she criticized Stevie for not making any sense when he said:

“What is truly exciting for me today is that we truly have lived to see a time and a space where America has a chance to again live up to the greatness that it deserves to be seen and known as, through the love and caring and the commitment of a president - as in our president, Barack Obama."

Give me a break. I'm sure Ms. Inghram would have spoken much more eloquently if SHE had been presented with the Greshwin Award. Oh, yea, she never did anything but unleash ugly, critical, scathing remarks againts people she doesn't even know.

I doubt that it would be difficult to digg up much more dirt on her, but she's not worth it. It just amazes me that so many Americans listen to her and actually like her. S h u d d e r . . .

Of course, she criticized Obama for everything he has ever done. Political figures are going to get that kind of treatment, but, speaking for Stevie Wonder fans everywhere:

LAY OFF STEVIE!
