Obama and Chavez

For all of you who think Venezeula is controlled by a dictator, please do some research. Chavez has been good for the country, which has huge oil reserves . . . hence the U.S. interest.

Obama was condemed for shaking the man's hand when they met in Trinidad on April 16. What the hell else was he supposed to do? Chavez is the President of Venezula, elected by the people, and I am relieved that Obama is attempting to be civil. Chavez has been critcal of U.S. foreign policy, and he has had good reason to be so. He is afraid we will try to make Venezula a colony, as we have attempted with Cuba and others.

It is distressing that Dick Cheny still puts his comments out there. He said the the hand shake might make our enemies "think they're dealing with a weak president." Would you please go away already, Cheney? It was such a relief when I thought you were gone for good. Your opinions don't matter anymore, so shut up and while others are trying to fix the various messes you left.

Perhaps this is another attemp to sway our attention from the recently released documents approving of torture from the Bush administration. Focus, America.
